Three decades of showing up for Teton County.
Like many people who came to Jackson for its mountains, Matt stayed because of its people.
What began as winters teaching skiing and summers guiding fishermen became a lifetime of service. He volunteered as an EMT, joined Search and Rescue, raised a family here, and eventually joined the Teton County Sheriff's Office.
Today, after more than three decades in this community, Jackson isn't simply where Matt lives. It's home.
For over 30 years, Matt has served in nearly every division of the Sheriff's Office.
That experience matters. It means understanding not just how each division works — but how they work together to keep Teton County safe.
Leadership begins with understanding the job from the ground up.
"The Sheriff's Office vision is to be the foremost leader in public service in the State of Wyoming. As your Sheriff, maintaining the public's trust remains the foundation of every decision the Sheriff's Office makes. I intend to continue working to make that vision a reality."
